Take a shelter dog on a fun day out!
The Bark Break Program allows animals at the shelter to be taken on a day-long field trip and gives them a chance to stretch their legs! You can take dogs on walks around your neighborhood, visit Cameron Park, stay at home and watch movies together or just give them a quiet place to rest for the day!
Getting dogs out of the shelter lets them decompress and helps them encounter the world, making them more adoptable!
To sign up for this program you will need to find a dog you are interested in at Pet Circle and fill out a form at the front desk with a valid ID. Once that process is complete, you can take your four-legged friend on their Bark Break!

Enjoy a fun night in with a furry friend!
Sleepover Rover is an overnight stay for a shelter dog. It is designed to give shelter dogs a temporary break from the kennel environment, while also providing potential adopters or community members the opportunity to experience life with a shelter dog for a night or weekend.
Participants can "Check out" a dog from the shelter for an overnight, or weekend stay in their home. This allows dogs to relax in a home setting, where they can decompress, enjoy quality time, and display their true personalities.
Benefits:
- Reduces stress from shelter environment
- Provides valuable insight into behavior in a home setting to help increase marketability and adoptability
- Provides a "trial run" for those considering adoption, without immediate commitment.
